| Filippo Cannata co-rapporteur at the University of Naples "Federico II" |
As seal of a long and ongoing collaboration with the University of Naples "Federico II" Filippo Cannata participates as co-rapporteur to the presentation of a thesis on the upgrading and lighting of Mercato Square.
The job has the purpose to set up a hybrid object resulting from the fusion of a lamppost with a multifunctional micro-architecture. The idea aimed at first at creating a product that could be used as a shop by day and as a resting place at night, was subsequently "generalized" with the aspiration to make it compatible with an industrial production process.
The artefact that with suitable optionals can become info-point, advertising board, led screen, exhibition pavilion or gazebo foreshadows different and more complex ways to emit light, in particular it provides the general illumination of the area below and the punctual one of a possible monuments which stands in the surrounding area, both "sensitive" to the residues of sunlight and to the number of people present.
A detailed report of this project research was recently presented at the Conference "Architecture of light"which was held in the Urban Center of Parma in September 2011. |
